Shapes

Shape: a two-dimensional area that may be open or closed, free form or geometric. Shape is defined by line. It can be found in nature or made by humans.

Geometric Shape: characterized by or decorated with regular lines and shapes.

Organic Shapes: characterized by an irregular or asymmetrical form, usually associated with the natural world.

The shapes I used in my art piece are rectangles and a little use of perfect squares.

Digital-Self Portrait

Define Shapes:
mainly organic consisting of rounder shapes

Discuss your process:
I started by making the outlines of everything then colored them in with that I finished by creating the shadows

What did you learn:
I learned to use opacity with a color to make better-looking shadows

What I want my audience to notice:
the shadows because I had to make a whole other layer that mimicked the shadows from the og picture which took a while

What could I Approve:
I am not too happy with my hair, so maybe next time I'll take more time to focus on that and make it more realistic.

Cartoon Character

What did I learn About Shapes:
I learned organic shapes are used a lot more than geometric ones due to everything involving curves and being irregular(not perfect)

Describe your process:
First I created the black part of the body starting from the head and then down. Then I started with the white part of the body and once I completed that I moved on to the chainsaw. Next, I added finer details to make the image pop out more, and lastly, I added the background which is the flames and the moon and the purple gradient behind it.

What did you learn:
I learned a new tool called image trace which vectorizes an image, I used this tool for the flames and moon, but the character was all me.
What would you do differently next time?:
Honestly, I am really happy with the end result of my product, I think I progressed from each project really well.

What would you like your audience to notice:
The fine details, there are some on the dog that are hard to see that I spent time on.
